Environmental, community, cultural, music and recreational groups are among 113 to receive City of Greater Bendigo community grants.Bendigo mayor Rod Fyffe said $222,049 would be delivered to a diverse range of local community groups in this latest round of funding.''Grants are provided in five categories: environmental sustainability, cultural, community assistance, community events and recreation,'' he said.''The aim of the community grants program is to assist local community groups and organisations from throughout the municipality with the costs associated with providing activities, events, projects, works and initiatives. ''The grants will benefit a wonderful range of projects that have been initiated by the community for the community and we are very pleased to be able to assist.''In this round we have provided $42,500 towards cultural projects, $18,049 for environmental projects, $34,000 for community events, $76,500 for general community assistance and $51,000 for recreation projects.
