Chewton men charged over $60,000 post theft

Two Chewton men have been charged in relation to a large amount of property allegedly stolen from the post, valued in excess of $60,000.Police executed search warrants after a joint investigation by Australia Post and local police at properties in Chewton and Castlemaine on Thursday.A 60-year-old man has been released pending summons and a 53-year-old man has been bailed to appear before court in June.Members of the public, who believe they may have been a victim of theft after expecting mail which has not arrived, are urged to contact Castlemaine Police on: 5472 2099 or Australia Post’s Customer Contact Centre on 131318
