THE Bendigo Braves are looking for more team spirit and they’re holding try-outs for cheerleaders this weekend to achieve it.Cheerleading director Kim Manallack said girls and guys were welcome to try out for the squad, performing tricks and a short choreographed dance routine.“We’d prefer a gymnastics or dance background but even if a girl hasn’t danced but is naturally co-ordinated and has a bubbly personality we’d love them to come perform for us,” she said.“At the moment our squad of 12 is all girls but if there’s any guys who want to try out they’re welcome.” The squad trains twice a week and members are encouraged to train at the gym three times a week. “We do promotions, go to training and all of the Braves’ home games,” Manallack said.“We also have a junior under-17 squad who cheer for the Lady Braves.”Try-outs are on at the Kangaroo Flat Leisure Centre from 6pm on Sunday. For more information contact Kim Manallack on 0421 803 602.
