Carols come home to Rosalind Park

AFTER five years the 2008 Bendigo Community Carols event will this year come 'home'.The carols will be back at Rosalind Park on December 21, for a night of family entertainment, starting at 6pm. The carols night was held at Rosalind Park for 40 years before being moved to Lake Weeroona. This year the night will be sponsored by Bendigo Community Telco. CEO Phil Lazenby said the Telco was happy to support the night, in conjunction with the ongoing annual input of the Rotary Club of Bendigo.“Community Carols is an example of what we are about; making the community a better place to live and prosper,’’ he said.Rotary Club of Bendigo president Noel Hobley said the club was excited to have the support of Bendigo Community Telco this year.City of Greater Bendigo’s director of city futures Stan Liacos was pleased to see the event return to Rosalind Park.”We’re particularly pleased that we are able to bring this iconic community event back in to the very centre of Bendigo.“Rosalind Park is Bendigo’s premier park, and after the event families have many cafes and restaurants around on offer.’’The tradition of family entertainment for all ages will continue at the candelight event.Organisers said this year’s audience can expect an even bigger and better show with a beneficiary performance by the Bendigo Youth Choir.Mr Liacos said he expected the event to be a great family night out.
