FIREFIGHTERS have brought a Bamawm blaze under control but a house has been destroyed.
Thick smoke may still linger in the area and the CFA is warning people to keep roads clear in the area.
The fire appears to have destroyed farming equipment at the rural property as well as the house.
There is no word yet on what may have caused the fire.
Fire crews remain on scene blacking out flames.
They include teams from Bamawm, Rochester and Lockington.
The CFA has issued this "advice" message for people in the area:
This Advice message is being issued for Bamawm, Bamawm Extension.
There is a house fire on Whinfield Road, Bamawm.
Smoke may be visible from nearby roads and communities.
There is currently no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
What you should do:
- Keep the roads clear so emergency services can respond.
- If you are sensitive to smoke or you live with someone who is sensitive to smoke you should close windows and doors. Turn off heating and cooling systems.
- To prevent the smell of smoke entering your home or business you should close windows and doors.

A HOUSE is on fire in Bamawm, north of Lockington.
Four firefighting crews have been called to Whinfield road.
The fire is not yet under control and is understood to be fully ablaze.
