One person hospitalised following Maiden Gully crash

ONE person has been hospitalised for minor injuries following a crash in Maiden Gully on Tuesday afternoon.

A car failed to give way when exiting Schumackers road and collided with a car travelling approximately 60km/h on the Calder highway.

Four parties were involved, one woman has been taken to hospital for minor injury treatment and observation.

The Calder was closed for a period of 20 minutes to remove the two vehicles.

The intersection has a history of collisions.

5.30pm

EMERGENCY service crews are racing to Maiden Gully after receiving reports of a car crash on the Calder Highway.

Fire crews have been called to the intersection with Beckhams Road, outside the Maiden Gully CFA station, according to VicEmergency.

The incident has taken place on a busy highway during peak hour but it is not yet clear whether traffic is being affected.

The crash was called in shortly after 5.15pm.
