A Lancefield man has had his motorcycle impounded and has been charged on summons after he was allegedly caught travelling at more than double the speed limit.

State Highway Patrol Solo Unit officers nabbed the man riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle travelling at an excessive speed in Bolinda on Sunday, January 30.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said officers clocked the man allegedly travelling at 150km/h in a 60km/h zone on Lancefield-Melbourne Road just after 4.30pm.
The spokesperson said police motorcycle members intercepted the vehicle and spoke to the rider, a 43-year-old man, and his pillion passenger, a 26-year-old woman.

The Lancefield man is expected to be charged on summons with exceed speed and other traffic offences.
His motorcycle has been impounded for 30 days with towing costs of $800.
The intercept was part of Operation Archer, aiming to reduce road trauma and lives lost on Victorian roads.
