A MAN has died following a motorcycle crash in Blampied, close to Daylesford over the weekend.

Police believe the rider was travelling along Midland Highway just before 11am on Saturday when his motorbike veered off the road and struck a tree.

CPR was administered but the rider sadly died at the scene.
The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
Since the beginning of this year, 23 lives have been lost on Victorian roads, compared to 13 last year.
