The station is expected to open in the middle of this year and will be the second of three new stations in the Bendigo region funded by the state government in the $49.6 million Bendigo Metro 3 Project.
In December, the Goornong community welcomed its new station. A new Raywood station is expected to be complete by late 2022.
Transport infrastructure minister and Bendigo East MP Jacinta Allan said better access to a regional train network will assist in Bendigo's growth.
"(We are) delivering better access to our regional train network and making it easier for locals to get to where they need to go," she said.
"Whether it's delivering road and rail upgrades, building GovHub and the new law courts, or supporting our local schools and hospitals - we're backing Bendigo's economy to recover and grow, creating local jobs along the way."
Huntly's new station will include a new single-sided platform, seating and shelter, bike hoops, a car park with lighting and CCTV, as well as a bus stop and two bus bays. Concept designs have been released to give locals an idea of what the new station will look like.
Construction will force coaches to replace trains between Swan Hill and Bendigo from February 8 until February 16. From February 17 to 27, coaches will replace all Bendigo and Swan Hill trains.
On the Bendigo and Echuca Line, coaches will replace trains between Southern Cross and Echuca from February 17 until February 27. For more details www.vline.com.au
