Queensland Police conducted a 13-day search with divers, officers on foot, horseback, ATVs and aerial assets including drones, however they announced on Friday they had found no trace of the missing girl.
Despite being scaled back, the search will continue this week with the assistance of Human Remains Detection Dogs and specialised search officers.
In a statement, Queensland police thanked those involved in the search.
"Police would particularly like to acknowledge the assistance provided by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services personnel, SES volunteers and Lifeflight," they said.
"Krystal was a compassionate, bright and bubbly girl who loved art and English at school. She was a fantastic sketcher and had a love of music."
Krystal's family have been notified and were supportive of all the efforts of emergency services.
