AN 18-YEAR-OLD woman has sadly died after she was hit by a car in Salisbury West, near Inglewood, late Wednesday night.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said police were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
The spokesperson said emergency services were called to Wedderburn-Serpentine Road at about 9.10pm after reports a car had hit a pedestrian.
"Crews attended and worked on the female pedestrian who sadly died at the scene," they said.

The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing but the driver of the car did stop at the scene and is currently assisting police.
