After winning the Bendigo International last Sunday, Escodebo won his way through to the final round of qualifying for the Open.
He lost his final qualifying match in a tough three-set battle, but still earned a berth in the Open draw as a lucky loser.
Escobedo, ranked 141 in the world, will play the 35th ranked player in the world - Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan - in the first round.
The winner of the match is likely to play 17th seed Gael Monfils in the second round.
Escobedo made it through to the second round of the Australian Open in 2017 before losing to David Ferrer.
Bendigo International men's number one seed Serbian Nikola Milojevic was knocked out in the second round in Bendigo, but he put that performance behind him and qualified for the Australian Open.
Milojevic, ranked 139, has a first round date with American Mackenzie McDonald, who is ranked 55th.
Bendigo International women's winner Ysaline Bonaventure narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Australian Open after losing her final qualifying round match.
Bendigo International number one seed Cristina Bucsa of Spain did make it through qualifying.
Bucsa will tackle Belgium's Alison Van Uytvanck in the opening round at Melbourne Park.
American CoCo Vandeweghe, who received plenty of local support in Bendigo, didn;t achieve her aim of playing in the Australian Open after she lost in the second round of qualifying.
First round action at the Australian Open begins on Monday.
