Andrew Martin's lack of tournament golf in the past 18 months didn't show in Thursday's first round of the Australian PGA Championship.
The Bendigo golfer shot a fine five-under par 66 on day one of the $1,000,000 event at Royal Queensland.

Martin mixed six birdies with one bogey on his way to five-under par and a tie for fourth - two shots behind leader Louis Dobbelaar.
Frustratingly for Martin, his only bogey for the opening round came on a par-five - the 519m seventh hole.
Two Queenslanders - Aaron Pike and Royal Queensland member Jediah Morgan - sit equal second at six-under par, with Martin in a group of four players at five-under.
Tournament favourite Min Woo Lee is at three-under.
Only 31 of the 120 players in the field broke par on a testing day one.
Martin has the advantage of a morning tee time for Friday's second round.
The Neangar Park product tees off at 7.15am Queensland time.
