The festival was due to celebrate its tenth event from February 10-13.
Event Director Colin Thompson said the decision was made due to the current high risk to its volunteers, artists, technicians and attendees alongside the uncertainty around venues being able to operate with staff shortages and capacity restrictions.
"The committee has been working non stop over the Christmas period to ensure the 10th festival is everything our supporters would want it to be, but the safety of our BB&RMF community must come first," he said.
Anyone who has purchased a ticket to one of the ticketed events, can retain their ticket for the rescheduled dates in November - however, if you require a refund, please contact the specific venue to arrange.
The postponed event will be re-programmed for 3 - 6 November 2022.
More to come.
