Mandurang marquee player Zane Keighran blasted a sizzling 108 off 57 balls to guide his side to what looked like a very competitive 8-187.
United's Dooley Niemann saw Keighran's 15 fours and five sixes and raised it with a superb display of power hitting.
Niemann clubbed nine sixes and eight fours in his 108 off just 47 balls to guide United home by seven wickets with 22 balls to spare.
Batting at number three, Niemann walked to the crease in the third over and was the dominant partner in a sizzling second wicket stand, with partner Joe Hartney making seven of the 77 runs.
He brought up his century with his eighth six, belted another six next ball for good measure and was dismissed on the final ball of the 15th over.
Alex Code (29 not out) added 77 for the third wicket with Niemann.
Earlier, Mandurang was left to lament a sluggish finish to its innings.
Keighran showed his class with some brilliant strokeplay.
The 21-year-old made the most of the small confines of the Mandurang ground, with 90 of his 108 runs coming in boundaries.
His fine knock came to an end halfway through the 14th over with Mandurang 3-141 and well-placed to score 200-plus.
However, United's bowlers reeled in the home side over the final six-and-a-half overs, taking 6-46.
Phil Berry (37 off 26 balls) was the only Mandurang player other than Keighran to reach double figures.
While most of the bowlers felt Keighran's wrath at some point, United skipper Harry Whittle finished with the fine figures of 3-22 off his four overs.
Paceman Kane Goldsworthy was solid with 2-27 off his four overs.
United has three wins from its first three T20 games to be on top of pool one, while Mandurang has a 1-1 record from two games.
United's final preliminary round match will be played next Tuesday night against Sedgwick at Ewing Park, while Mandurang is away to Emu Creek.
After last Saturday's regular season round was cancelled because of COVID-19 concerns, the EVCA home and away season will resume this weekend.
