WNBL - Wilson's 400th game on hold again as entire round six postponed

Bendigo-based Wilson - playing this season with the Canberra Capitals - has now had her 400^th milestone game twice postponed after the entire WNBL round six was unable to proceed.

Wilson was scheduled to become the first WNBL player to the 400-game milestone last Wednesday night when the Capitals were to host Sydney Uni.

However, that game was among five initial round six matches that the WNBL announced would be postponed due to COVID health and safety protocols.

Wilson's 400^th match was then set to be Saturday's game between the Capitals and Melbourne Boomers in Traralgon.

However, no round six games were played over the weekend, with the WNBL postponing all matches, including Sunday's game between the Townsville Fire and Bendigo Spirit.

The Fire-Spirit game was postponed on Friday morning following four positive COVID cases within the Spirit were confirmed.

"The health and safety of the players, coaches, clubs, staff and fans is the league's No.1 priority," the league said in announcing the round six postponement.

"The WNBL will continue to follow the advice of governments and health authorities.

"The league will work with all teams to reschedule games in the coming weeks.

"We appreciate and thank the fans for their patience and understanding during this constantly evolving situation."
