Chasing 187 for victory off 40 overs, Northern Rivers made 2-187 off 36.2 overs.
The star of the win was Shepparton's Gemma Boyd, who made a stunning 94 not out off 105 balls, including nine boundaries.
She added 127 for the first wickert with opener Maddison Pearse (30).
The carnival continues on Monday with four days of Twenty20 matches in Melbourne and Geelong.
