Wilson 400th milestone game on delay until weekend as WNBL postpones five round six games

Among the five postponed matches was tonight's scheduled game between Canberra and Sydney Uni.

The game would have been the 400^th WNBL match for Canberra's Wilson, who is on the verge of becoming the first player in league history to achieve the feat.

Instead Wilson - who has played more than half her WNBL career with the Bendigo Spirit, including winning two championships, and lives and works in Bendigo - will now have to wait until Saturday to play her milestone game.

Wilson, who is originally from Leongatha, will now play her milestone match against the Melbourne Boomers at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium in Traralgon at 5pm on Saturday.

None of the round six postponed games impact on the Bendigo Spirit, who are still scheduled to play Townsville in Townsville at 5pm on Sunday for what will be their first game for 17 days.

The Spirit have already had one game postponed after their December 29 home match against Sydney Uni was unable to go ahead after a Flames team member tested positive to COVID.

Round six postponed WNBL games:

Tonight - Sydney v Canberra.

Thursday - Southside v Perth.

Friday - Townsville v Adelaide.

Saturday - Sydney v Perth.

Sunday - Adelaide v Southside.

Just 15 WNBL games have been played so far this season that started on December 4 as the league navigates through COVID interruptions, with the Perth Lynx finally playing their first game last Sunday.

The Spirit has a 1-3 record and last played on December 22 in a 100-88 loss at home to Wilson's Capitals.
