Kelly Doolan, 44, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court last month where she pleaded guilty to charges including evading police and theft.

The court heard on April 27, 2019, Doolan and an unknown male went to the liquor section of an Inglewood supermarket.

They collected two bottles of vodka, valued at $74.99, and Doolan concealed the alcohol in her bag.

When the worker challenged her about the hidden bottles, Doolan refused to show her bag and instead left the store without paying.

On November 26, Inglewood police tried to intercept Doolan after she failed to obey a stop sign but the 44-year-old sped off.

The court heard her associate contacted police a short time later, telling them that Doolan was at her property and trying to hide the car used in the incident.

Doolan, who represented herself in court, said since the 2019 offending, she had served a jail term for other charges and completed a community corrections order with drug counselling and mental health treatment.

The 44-year-old said she was now a full-time carer for her mother and was looking after her children.

Magistrate Trieu Huynh said the offences were very dated and should have been dealt with when Doolan pleaded guilty to the other charges.

Mr Huynh said he accepted the 44-year-old had already completed a community corrections order so he would instead impose a fine.

Doolan was convicted and fined $750. Her licence was also cancelled and she was disqualified from driving for six months.
