
FATHER and son, Greg and Jake Hilson went one-two in the 3000m race as the Parker Electrical-backed Tuesday Night Series for athletes resumed at the Flora Hill track.
Winner of last year's Richard Kitt Memorial 1500m at the Bendigo Regional Athletics Complex, Greg Hilson showed he is in fine form as he won Tuesday's 7 1/2 lap contest in a time of 11:22.

He has nominated for the Parker Electrical-sponsored Richard Kitt Memorial 1500m and also for the G.M. and G.L. Hilson Builders-backed Sally Conroy Memorial 200m to be run this Saturday night at Flora Hill.
Best known as a sprinter, Jake Hilson marked a big step up in distance to achieve a time of 11:26 as University's David Cripps was third in 11:34.
The 3000m drew eight starters.

Honours in the 1000m went to University's Melissa Douglas in 4:31 from Katie Graham, racing on invitation basis in 4:39, and University's Ronny Epps, 4:59.
The appeal of distance running was reflected in the 1000m as ages of competitors ranged from four up to 48.
Meanwhile, the Thursday Night Distance Series run at the Tom Flood Sports Centre in Barnard Street on January 13.
Athletes mark the halfway mark as they contest the fifth of 10 legs.
Racing on January 13 will be the Kevin Shanahan Naturopath-sponsored 800m at 7.15pm.
Now in its 35th year, the series is run in conjuction with the Bendigo and District Cycling Club's track program.
The top 15 on aggregate standings qualify for the George Flack 1000m final on March 3.
Athletes are also in the running for the John Burke most consistent trophy.
