SOARING temperatures have been no barrier to the fun for New Year's Eve revellers who have chosen to see out 2021 with a splash this afternoon.
Golden Square Pool is holding a family-friendly party to help the community beat the 37 degree heat.
DJ Deanna Jerman is playing tonight and many people have turned out with picnics to enjoy the festivities.
President of the Golden Square Pool, Sam Kane, said the party was scheduled to end at 8.30pm so guests could get to the city with plenty of time to catch the 9.15pm fireworks display.
"This is our third New Year's Eve party at the pool and we're so happy to be holding it,'' he said.

"We saved the pool from closure nine years ago and it is entirely volunteer operated.
"We couldn't hold the party last year because of restrictions so we're excited about having this one. For us, it is about providing a space for the community to gather and connect with friends and family."
The pool has a capacity limit of 500 and you can keep an eye on numbers on its Facebook page.
