As cases rise around the state and the country, Greater Bendigo has recorded 16 new COVID-19 positives overnight.
After a spike of 31 new cases on Thursday, the new daily case number has dropped below 20.
This takes the total number of active cases in the region to 119 and 1109 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Outside of Greater Bendigo, the Campaspe Shire recorded 21 new cases, Mount Alexander three and the Macedon Ranges 21.
The Central Goldfields, Buloke, Gannawarra and Loddon shires recorded no new cases.

Victoria has recorded another big leap in COVID-19 cases as a post-Christmas surge.
The state recorded 5919 new cases on Thursday, according to new Department of health figures.
The latest daily numbers are up on the 5137 uncovered in the previous 24 hour period and are three times the sorts of numbers recorded on most days prior to Christmas.
Another seven people died on Thursday.
There are now 428 people in hospital, 54 in intensive care units and 21 on ventilators.
Health workers administered 66,774 tests and 3798 vaccine doses.
COVID-19 cases have been building in Bendigo since Christmas, with 16 new ones on Tuesday and 31 on Wednesday.
There were 107 people with active cases on Wednesday in the municipality.
The Department of Health is expected to update that figure later today when it releases more data on local government areas.
