GREATER Bendigo has recorded another 31 COVID-19 cases as the state reels from a post-Christmas surge.
It is double the number recorded the day before and is the second largest jump of the Delta wave, behind the 40 recorded in early November.
Bendigo Health says there are no confirmed Omicron cases in the Loddon Mallee region, which includes Greater Bendigo.
The total number of active cases across the municipality leapt from 83 to 107 on Thursday, new Department of Health data shows.
Of the new cases, 15 have been linked to Bendigo's 3550 postcode and eight to the regional 3551 area.
Another three are connected to Eaglehawk's 3556 postcode and one to Kangaroo Flat's 3555 area.
Marong's 3515 postcode has recorded three cases and Ravenswood's 3453 area recorded some too.
As of yesterday, three people with coronavirus were in Bendigo Health's intensive care unit and seven were in the COVID-19 ward.
One person was on a ventilator.
Bendigo Health has been testing between 700 and 850 people a day on average through the Christmas period.
Outside of Greater Bendigo, the Campaspe shire recorded 13 new cases, Gannawarra three and the Macedon Ranges 19.
The Mount Alexander Shire recorded 12 cases and its Castlemaine North Primary School cluster continued to shrink.
It now has 14 active cases, compared to 60 in the period before Christmas.
The Central Goldfields, and Loddon shires recorded no new cases.

VICTORIA has seen 5137 new COVID-19 cases overnight, taking the state's active cases in another day of intensifying numbers.
It is part of a steady post-Christmas climb in case numbers, which are well over 1000 more than the 3767 recorded the day before.
Daily case numbers on Thursday are more than double those of a week ago when Victoria was usually posting about 2000 cases a day.
The number of daily deaths remain fairly consistent.
Thirteen people died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
There were 3775 vaccinations administered at state-run clinics yesterday which means 92.8 per cent of Victorians aged 12 and over have been fully vaccinated for coronavirus.
A total of 395 Victorians are in hospital, with 55 in the ICU and 23 on ventilators.
There were more than 81,093 test conducted in the last 24 hours.

Bendigo and surrounding regions are struggling to get enough poolside staff. The Victorian Government has promised $3.4 million to urgently train more swim teachers. The funding will also help boost employment for people hit especially hard by pandemic job losses.

Hot weather has been forecast for the next few days and increased fire risks are expected. The CFA is warning Bendigo residents to be ready to act.
There have already been a series of grass fires over the past week, including a 17-hectare blaze in Mia Mia on Monday that destroyed a car and came close to homes.
High fuel loads throughout the Bendigo district, created by a wet spring, and predicted high winds will increase fire risks.
