GREATER Bendigo recorded another six cases on Monday but active numbers fell.

The municipality now has 70 active cases, down from 83 the day before, new Department of Health data shows.

Four of the cases were uncovered in Bendigo's 3550 postcode.

Another two were found in the rural 3551 postcode that borders the city to both the east and west.

Elsewhere in central Victoria, the Campaspe Shire had three new cases and the Central Goldfields one.

The Macedon Ranges Shire had nine and Mount Alexander three.

The Loddon and Gannawarra shires recorded no new cases.

Castlemaine North Primary School's cluster continued to ease on Monday.

There are now 20 active cases connected to the cluster, a third of the number linked to it late last week.

The cluster is now the sixth biggest in the state, down from fifth place the day before.

The Lockington Consolidated Primary School cluster is now consists of 12 active cases.

VICTORIA has seen 2738 new COVID-19 cases overnight, taking the state's active cases to 17,821.

There have been four deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

There were 533 vaccinations administered at state-run clinics yesterday which means 92 per cent per cent of Victorians aged 12 and over have been fully vaccinated for coronavirus.

A total of 361 people are in Victorian hospitals, including 69 in intensive care and 33 on venitilators.

There were 66,683 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

Businesses can breathe a little easier, in the knowledge that a suggested rate rise on commercial properties has been blocked by Mount Alexander Shire councillors.

A five-year strategy suggested that the council raise the rates on commercial properties - which are currently 130 per cent of what an average person is charged - to 150 per cent over several years.
