POLICE have charged a Kangaroo Flat man after he was allegedly caught speeding and overtaking cars on Boxing Day.

The 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with offences including reckless conduct endangering life and driving at an excessive speed.
Police alleged the man was driving a silver Holden Commodore sedan south on the Loddon Valley Highway near Jarklin about 4pm on Sunday.
He was allegedly overtaking other vehicles and speeding at 144km/h before he turned down Prairie West Road towards Calivil.

The Kangaroo Flat driver allegedly reached speeds of about 170km/h before he was intercepted by police.
Goldfields Highway Patrol Sergeant Brad Hall said the man failed an oral fluid test and his car was unroadworthy, with excessively worn rear tyres.
The 37-year-old was charged and released on summons. He is due to face the Bendigo Magistrates' Court at a later date.
