They got their wish, except it was Melbourne Boomers' recruit Tiffany Mitchell and not Bendigo Spirit point guard Leilani Mitchell.

Tiffany Mitchell, in her first year in the WNBL, arrived in Australia from the WNBA with big wraps and she lived up to those reviews against the Spirit.
The Indiana Fever guard torched the Spirit for 25 points, 18 of which came in a dominant first half where she made seven of her nine field goal attempts.
The Spirit's outside shooting wasn't quite as hot in the first half (11-36 at 30 per cent) and the home side was probably lucky to be within five points at the main break.
The third quarter belonged to the Boomers.
They outscored the Spirit 23-8 to take a 20-point lead into the final quarter.

Spirit guards Leilani Mitchell and Tessa Lavey shot a combined 3-16.

Anneli Maley tried her heart out for nine points and 11 rebounds, while Megan McKay and Mary Goulding had nine points each.

As good as Tiffany Mitchell was when the game was on the line, Australian Opals star Ezi Magbegor had a brilliant all-round game for the Boomers.
The athletic forward was one assist shy of a triple-double - 21 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists and four blocks.
The sixth-placed Spirit (1-2) travel to Canberra on Wednesday to play the fourth-placed UC Capitals (1-1).
