Officially opened by City of Greater Bendigo mayor Andrea Metcalf on Thursday, youngsters in Bendigo will now be able to book in and take part in the annual Elf Academy.
The prestigious training facility is designed especially for Santa's little helpers, providing them with all the skills they need to join his renowned team.
"Exuding fun, creativity and unrivalled Christmas spirit, Elf Academy is guaranteed to capture your imagination" Cr Metcalf said..
The surface of Central Deborah Gold Mine has been transformed into a Christmas wonderland where carols, baubles, reindeers and candy canes are all part of the festivities.
Through a series of different craft activities, games and challenges children will discover all of the skills required to become a qualified Elf.
Recruits will learn how to care for reindeer and other farm animals in Santa's Stables, paint a plaster ornament worthy of hanging on any tree, create their own wrapping paper, prepare reindeer food, practice stacking presents as high as the clouds, and most importantly, prepare Santa for his around the world trip.
With so many new skills, recruits will gain their annual Certificate IV in Elf Training.

"The last 18 months for us as tourism operators has been extremely challenging, but also for the wider community as well.
"This event is about sparking a bit of joy, having a bit of hope and having a bit of fun at the same time."
All visitors aged 16 years and above currently need to be double vaccinated to visit the site.
Ticketing prices are:
- $20 per person (includes adults and children aged 2+ years of age)
- $80 per family of up to six people
- Infants (0-1 years) free of charge
- $15 per Santa Photography Session
