There have been "a number of COVID-19 cases" in the Lockington Consolidated School community.
In a letter to parents and families, principal James Hodgens said it was with a "heavy heart" that the news had to be confirmed.
"I can assure you we are working around the clock to get on top of this as quickly as possible," he said.
"This is a distressing time for all and our best wishes are with those that are currently affected."

CORONAVIRUS case numbers in Greater Bendigo have remained steady as the region recorded another eight new cases on Friday.
These new cases bring the total active cases in the area to 64 and 964 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Sadly, Campaspe Shire has seen a significant spike in coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, with 19 new cases recorded.
A Bendigo Health spokesperson confirmed the Campaspe Shire's spike in cases could be linked back to a primary school in the region.
It has not been confirmed which school the cases are coming from.
In other parts of the state, the Mount Alexander and Macedon Ranges shires both recorded seven new cases each.
Unfortunately the Loddon Shire is no longer COVID free after recording one new case in the last 24 hours.
There were no new cases recorded in the Buloke, Gannawarra and Central Goldfields shires.
Earlier
Victoria has now had 12 consecutive days of daily COVID-19 cases being above 1000.
The has state recorded 1510 new cases since Thursday taking the active cases in Victoria to 12,578.
A further seven people have sadly died from coronavirus.
Thursday also saw 82,301 COVID-19 test results returned to Victorians and 11,888 vaccinations administered.
There are 386 people in hospital due to coronavirus with 82 in ICU and 43 on a ventilator.
Victoria's double vaccination rate now stands at 92 per cent for people over the age of 12.
Greater Bendigo recorded seven cases on Thursday to have 59 active cases.
Cases were also recorded in the Macedon Ranges (6), Campaspe (3) and Mount Alexander (1) shires.
The Loddon, Gannawarra, and Central Goldfields shires recorded no new cases on Thursday.
The latest cases come as Australian research confirms the importance of of booster vaccinations for reduce serious infection and hospitalisation relating to the Omicron strain.
Researchers believe it could reduce the potential for infection or hospitalisation by up to 98 per cent.
Australia's peak expert panel on vaccines, ATAGI, is expected to update its booster advice to government next week.
What's making news?
In central Victoria yesterday, VCE students celebrated receiving their ATAR scores.
Results were available from 7am with Bendigo students securing a number of high scores. More than 50,000 students will graduate with their VCE - a completion rate of 98 per cent of students, while another 14,066 students will receive their VCAL.
There was also celebration on Thursday for paramedic Richard Marchingo, who has now been a paramedic for 35 years.
He took time out to reflect on how the world of ambulance service has changed during his career.
"(The next generation) has a depth of knowledge far greater than mine," he said. "I might have a bit more experience but going forward we are in good hands."
On Thursday, emergency services minister Jaclyn Symes announced new CFA work wear for 30,000 members and volunteers will be manufactured in Bendigo.
Australian Defence Apparel in East Bendigo will create 30,000 sets of work wear as part of a $9 million state government contract.
"The supply chain is uniquely all Victorian," MS Symes said. "Different places around the state will produce different elements of uniform from belt buckles to hats to the shirts, pants and skirts available for hardworking CFA members.
