The 2022 Super Netball season will start on Saturday, March 26 with the Adelaide Thunderbirds hosting the Magpies before the Swifts and Giants do battle in the grand-final rematch.

The Swifts beat the Giants 63-59 in last season's decider.

The 14-round home-and-away season will be followed by a three-week finals series starting on June 18.

The grand final will be held on Saturday, July 2 with the season starting and finishing earlier than normal to accommodate the July 28-August 8 Commonwealth Games.

The introduction of later Saturday timeslots (5pm AEST and 7pm AEST) has been designed to ensure community netball participants can attend more matches.

The broadcasting of every game live on Fox Sports under a new five-year broadcast agreement - with all Tuesday, Sunday and finals games to be televised live and free on Kayo Freebies - ensures netball has the potential to reach a much wider audience next year.

But it's the Saturday night timeslots - a traditional stronghold for the NRL and AFL - that looms as the most intriguing aspect.

"We are unbelievably proud but also overtly confident in our product," Super Netball's general manager of events and commercial Adam Richardson said. "We believe that it stands up under any scrutiny.

"We've got the best league in the world, we attract the best players in the world.

"We're the pre-eminent watched female sport in this country. We should not be at all concerned about how we position that in the market.

"We know where we stand and we're confident about how that stacks up. We are up for that challenge."

Super Netball chief executive Kelly Ryan confirmed the two-goal Super Shot would again be included in 2022, despite the rule not being in place for the Commonwealth Games.

"We're really comfortable with where the Super Shot sits in relative terms to all the research we do around it," Ryan said.

"I think it's still important that we continue to find ways to be progressive as a sport and we think the Super Shot does do that, and we have no reason (to believe) that it will change our ability to win gold at the Commonwealth Games next year."

First Nations Round, previously known as Indigenous Round, will be held across rounds 12 and 13.

It has been renamed to embrace the diversity of First Nations cultures, people and identities of Australia.

The round-14 matches between the NSW and Queensland teams will align with the NRL's State of Origin to add some extra cross-border spice.

The Pride match between the Magpies and Queensland Firebirds will also return in 2022.
