The project was part of the Stage Two upgrades which will now make way for stage three to begin.
In October, council awarded the tender for stage three of the project to Searle Bros Building Contractors.
Central Goldfields Shire Tullaroop Ward Councillor Anna De Villiers said it was wonderful to see the project continue to make good progress.
"Council is committed to see that the project is delivered on time," she said.
"I was at the Recreation Reserve earlier this week and saw the big demolition machine parked in front of the old changes rooms and it was such a poignant moment for me, reflecting on the role the old change rooms played in the life of the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve.
"I guess that also brought home to me how sad it is to see the old go in order to make room for the new, which is also at the same time exciting."
Stage Three of the project involves the redevelopment of the existing pavilion which includes female friendly player change rooms and amenities, female friendly umpire change rooms and amenities, first aid room, multi-purpose room, office and accessible toilet.
Carisbrook Recreation Reserve President Troy Driscoll said it was fantastic to see some of the building development take place.
More news:
"Whilst it's sad to see the old building demolished it's great to that area starting to be cleaned up ready for the new complex," he said.
"We look forward to seeing the project complete by September next year."
The Carisbrook Recreation Reserve project is being delivered in four stages:
- Stage One: Upgrades to the existing netball and tennis courts - court resurfacing and line-marking - which is underway.
- Stage Two: Early Works - car parking, new vehicle entry, removal of away change rooms and a new green keepers shed - nearing completion.
- Stage Three: New pavilion - which is underway.
- Stage Four: A bowls/community pavilion with a toilet block - a new pavilion to service bowling greens and community events, kitchen with kiosk, accessible public toilets at end of building, disabled car space, ramps and viewing platform.
The stage three works, valued at $2.3 million will commence in December and are expected to be complete August 2022.
