A GUN onballer for Golden Square Football Netball Club, Hamish Morcom showed his athletic ability in Tuesday night's running of the A.L. Parker Electrical-backed series for athletes at the Flora Hill track.
Morcom played in Golden Square's senior premiership wins in 2012 and '13 and is now in an 11th pre-season with the club.

On Tuesday night he was among a field of seven in the 3000m run as he ran in the Bulldogs' singlet from the 2012 pre-season.
Morcom and South Bendigo veteran Greg Hilson charged clear of the pack on the opening lap.
At four laps to go, Morcom led Hilson by 20 metres as University's Ben McDermid, Bendigo Harriers' Anne Buckley and Uni's Vanessa Bull were next.
Morcom upped the rate in the second half of the 7 1/2 lap contest and powered to the line in a time of 10:52.02.

At age 52, Hilson shows no sign of slowing down.
Despite a long day building, Hilson was on 11-minute pace by the halfway mark of Tuesday's race.
The heat had an effect on the last three laps, although he finished in a fine time of 11:49.
Buckley powered home to claim third in 12:29 from Bull, 12:45, and McCermid, 13:19.
The Tuesday Night series could play a part in Morcom's build-up to another footy season.
His first year at Golden Square ended in the Mark Lloyd-coaching Bulldogs winning the 2012 grand final against Gisborne by three points.
A year later and Morcom again played a key role as the Rick Ladson-coached Square beat Strathfieldsaye by 21 points for the Bendigo Advertiser premiership cup.
After back-to-back wins in the 3000m the previous two weeks, University's Hugh Casey moved back to the 1000m distance and ran a great time of 3:24.
Uni Pride clubmates Jonty McDermid, 3:53, and April Wainwight, 3:54, ran strongly in the gough conditions.
