CFA crews have brought the hay shed fire near Charlton under control, but expect it to smolder for at least a week.
Firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control by 12.30pm, but will need to keep an eye on the stack to ensure the fire does not flare up.

CFA crews were called out about 10.30am today to find a hayshed well alight in Adams Road, Charlton.
The 70mx40m shed contained about 1000 hay bales.
CFA crews used a grader to dig a mineral earth firebreak around the fire and will provide daily patrols of the site.
It is expected the hay bales will burn for 48 hours.

COUNTRY Fire Authority crews are working to control a hay shed fire in Charlton.
Two units from the Chalrton CFA were called at 10.28am to a property in Adams Road. They found the shed fully involved with flames.
The fire is not yet under control.
Emergency Vic has issued a warning to the Barrakee, Charlton, Woosang, Yeungroon East communities to stay informed.
The warning says smoke may visible from nearby roads and communities as firefighters pull aparat the hay to extinguish the fire.
