Shae Clifford, who debuted in the midcourt for reigning BFNL A-grade premiers Sandhurst in 2021, Kyneton goal attack Claire Oakley and Ella Harvey, from the Deniliquin Netball Association, have been named in a squad of 30-players vying for selection in the 19-and-under team for next year's national championships.
Included in a 26-player 17-and-under squad is the Castlemaine District Netball Association's Megan Wilson, whose selection came off the back of a stellar season for Newstead in the Maryborough Castlemaine District league.
Despite still being eligible for 15-and-under in 2021, Wilson made the step up to 17-and-under netball in brilliant fashion by claiming the league's best and fairest award.
Harvey, who will line up with Boroondara Express in the Victorian Netball League 19-and-under competition next year, enjoyed another strong season in 2021 with Deniliquin Rams in the Murray league A-grade competition.
The versatile Harvey, who plays centre, wing attack and goal attack, was selected in a similar squad of 30 earlier this season ahead of the cancelled 2021 national championships.
Oakley, who will again line up with Melbourne University Lightning in the VNL next season and Clifford, originally from Castlemaine, have also previously been a part of extended state squads.
Earlier this year, Clifford was named in the 17-and-under squad which was to have represented North Central at this year's Netball Victoria State Titles.
Wilson was selected in the 15-and-under team.
The two squads will train at the State Netball Centre on January 22, 23 and 30, with final team selections to be confirmed following the final session.
The 2022 National Netball Championships will be held in Hobart from April 18 to 24.
