After all hope seemed lost last month, the event was given the green light to proceed after the state government's lifting of restrictions.
Cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the popular event was set to miss again due to issues around organising a COVID-safe plan and the ability to check the vaccination status of patrons.
This year will mark the 50th concert hosted by the community organisation and president Tom Dobeli said he hoped this would be a good kick-start for next year.
"We're hoping that after the last 18 months we've had, this will be a chance to get families back together to enjoy some amazing performances in the park," he said.
"It will be great to have people in Bendigo and have them able to start Christmas off on a positive note."
Soprano star Merlyn Quaife will return to the city to sing at the event, as well as performers Dan Sexton and Luke Gallagher.
Other stories:
The City of Greater Bendigo Brass Band and Bendigo Youth Choir are also locked in for performances on the night.
Gold coin donations will be accepted upon entry to the event to go to UsherKids Australia, a charity supporting children with Usher syndrome, a genetic condition that causes hearing and vision loss.
The club will also run a barbeque and other food and drink stalls will be set up throughout the night.
Mr Dobeli said the event wouldn't be possible without the hard work and support from many in the community.
"It's fantastic to get support from the City of Greater Bendigo and the Bendigo Club because it's enabled us to get the show up and running and in motion again," he said.
"Even though they've been unwell, Val Broad and Colin Nankervis have done a wonderful job getting the program together, so we appreciate the work they've done as well."
The Carols by Candlelight event will run from 6.30pm until 10.30pm at Rosalind Park.
