Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are examining the circumstances around a crash that resulted in the death of a woman.

The crash occurred in Wyuna East, near Kyabram, on Friday around 1.30pm when a it is believed a car and truck collided at the intersection of Trevaskis and Finlay roads.
The male driver and sole occupant of the truck was not injured. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The female passenger of the vehicle, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
There have now been 220 lvies lost on Victorian roads this year compared to 200 at the same time last year.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.
