First of the field events on Saturday's program at the Bendigo Regional Athletics Complex in Retreat Road, Flora Hill will be hammer at 1pm.

Distance hurdles begin at 1.30pm and will be followed by 1500m walk, 200m, 800m, 100m, 3000m and 5000m.

A big program of field events includes pole vault, high jump, long jump, and discus.

Eaglehawk leads the premiership race on 43 points from Glenhuntly, 42; Essendon, 38; and Diamond Valley, 30.

The Hawks and Glenhuntly have both used their Powerplay in which they double their premiership points allocation from that round.

In division two, Bendigo Harriers holds fourth place.

In the lead-up to the club's centenary in 2022, Harriers have scored 28 points and will be keen to keep the pressure on Western, 46; Sandringham, 37; and Keilor St Bernards, 29.

South Bendigo is fifth in division two on 23 points.

Bendigo University has climbed to the fifth rung on the division five ladder.

Pride has scored 26 points as Williamstown, 43; Maccabi, 40; Ivanhoe, 37; and South Coast, 30, lead the way.

There are 130 entries for Saturday's meet in Bendigo.

Eaglehawk will be represented by 45 members, and Bendigo Harriers and South Bendigo by 35 apiece.

University has seven athletes on the entry lists, while Athletics Chiwell, Glenhuntly, Keilor St Bernards and Mornington will be represented.

Albury's Xavier Pitt marks another long trek south, and Preston's Izaak Long will also be back in Bendigo.

Inclusions for Eaglehawk this round include Damian Horan in the sprints; Ana Karamaloudis, and Kenan Seebah.

The Two Blues will be without the in-form Angus McKindlay, Laura Kadri, Kye Mason, James Bentley and Lachlan Start.

A formidable Eaglehawk line-up includes the versatility of David Chisholm and Terry Hicks, the throwing power of Craig and Olivia Graham and Rhondda Dundas, and leaping ability of Denise Snyder.

Bendigo Harriers welcomes back top high jumper Liam Shadbolt.

The teenager from Swan Hill cleared the two-metre mark in AVSL round three.

Other athletes to watch for the Harriers include Jake and Monique Gavriliadis, the Evans and Greenman families, Lachlan Carr, Neil Shaw, Anne Buckley and Geoff Shaw.

Key athletes for South Bendigo include Oliver Muggleton in the sprints, Emma Berg at throws, the Norton and Guillou clans, Tickell siblings, Rhys Lias and Joan Self.

University's squad includes in-form distance runner Hugh Casey, Billy Meade, Melissa and Ross Douglas.
