Bendigo resident and La Trobe professor Brett Gordon has been named the lucky winner of a national Toyota competition on Friday which saw him drive away with a brand new Toyota Yaris x Hybrid.
And all he had to do to enter was book a car service through the Toyota app.
"The competition was an effort to promote online bookings," Bendigo Toyota's Gabrielle Richards said.
"Because of COVID, Toyota is trying to encourage people to book services online and not come into the dealership to do those sorts of things."
Any customers who booked their next service online automatically went into the draw to win the Hybrid car.
Dr Gordon had been servicing his car for years at the Bendigo dealership, and was unaware he'd even entered the competition.
"I didn't really believe it when Gabrielle told me," he said.
"I didn't even know I'd entered.
"To have someone ring up and say I've won a car was pretty unreal.
"I think the most I've ever won before was ten dollars on a scratchie."
