Maryborough Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have information in relation to a small fire last week.

Police said on December 6, CFA crews were called to a small fire in the bushland off Ballarat-Maryborough Road, Maryborough at about 12pm.

This bushland backs on to the Goldfields Reservoir.
Police are now asking the community, for someone to come forward who may have observed anyone near the area at the time.
The Fire Danger Period will commence Central Goldfields Shire on December 13.
Once a danger period has been declared, fires cannot be lit in the open air without a written permit from CFA or a Municipal Fire Prevention Officer.
There are very strict conditions attached to these permits and the liability sits with the permit holder to ensure they always act safely.
