"We all have it in us to innovate - it doesn't have to be big or complicated - some of the simplest inventions solve big problems."
A group of artisans who call themselves The Artisans of Florence had produced and manage the largest travelling exhibition of Da Vinci's inventions.
The works have been created using the latest advancements in computer-aided design technology along with the expertise of historians, scholars skilled artisans and materials of the time.
"Discovery is thrilled to be showcasing the incredible work of the great Renaissance master, Leonardo Da Vinci, with the aim of inspiring everyone to become creators of positive change," Discovery manager Alissa Van Soest said.
Bendigo Regional Manufacturing Group chair Mark Brennan, whose members have come together as sponsors of the exhibition, hopes the exhibition and it's inspiring story can influence the next generation of inventors and engineers.
"The exhibition brings a timely message around the need to inspire the next generation to dare to imagine, innovate and create solutions that address some of the challenges we are facing as a nation," he said.
"The number of children pursuing STEM careers has declined to alarming levels, so it is essential that we turn this trend around by focussing our efforts on building children's confidence around innovation - Da Vinci's Machines will be a vehicle to help people, young and old, recognise that they have it in them to be innovators."
Sponsors of the exhibition include Fosterville Gold Mine, Australian Turntables, Bendigo Pottery, Foodmach, McCulloch & Sons and Mandalay Resources.
Da Vinci's Machines opens late February, 2022. Tickets go on sale in January. Visit www.discovery.asn.au for more.
