Greater Bendigo has recorded only two new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
This is a sharp drop compared to the 18 new cases - nine on Saturday and nine on Sunday - recorded over the weekend.
The number of active cases in the region have climbed to 141, two more since yesterday.
The two new cases were linked to postcodes 3550 and 3551. According to data from the Department of Health coronavirus website, these two postcodes have had the most COVID-19 cases in Bendigo since the beginning of the pandemic.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Bendigo since the pandemic began is 896. It is expected the region will cross over 900 cases this week.
Elsewhere, Campaspe Shire recorded an additional three cases taking the number of total active cases in the shire to 33.
The Macedon Ranges recorded one more new case than Campaspe Shire - reporting four cases in the last 24 hours - taking its total active case numbers to 46.
Loddon Shire, Mount Alexander Shire and the Central Goldfields Shire all recorded zero new cases.

VICTORIA has recorded another 1,073 as Greater Bendigo prepares to mark a grim milestone.
The municipality is likely to reach 900 cases since the start of the pandemic when those figures are released later today.

Greater Bendigo has so far had 894 cases, far more than the similarly sized city of Ballarat on 303.
It is unclear how many new cases will be recorded in Greater Bendigo later today but data released this morning shows that another six people have died from COVID-19 or its complication in the last 24 hours.
A total of 310 people are in hospital. Of those, 45 are in intensive care units and 19 are on ventilators.
Victorian health authorities tested over 56,000 people yesterday and administered another 1,513 vaccination doses.

It comes as vaccines for children as young as five is a step closer and could be available early in the new year.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration approved a Pfizer vaccine for five to 11 year olds, which Health Minister Greg Hunt expects will start rolling out from January 10.
He said vaccine experts at the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation will give their nod of approval soon after the group's final checks.
