A RECORD tally of 156 athletes has entered for Saturday's fourth round of Athletics Victoria Shield League to be run by Bendigo Region at the Flora Hill complex.

Athletes from Albury, Essendon and Chilwell will join competitors from Bendigo Harriers, Bendigo University, Eaglehawk and South Bendigo for this meet at the Retreat Road venue.
Action begins at 1.30pm when sprint hurdles are contested at distances of 110m, 100m, 90m and 80m.
Other track disciplines are 1500m walk, 100m, 1500m, 3000m and 400m.
A highlight will be mixed 4 x 400m relays from about 3pm.
The field program is pole vault, javelin, shot put, and triple jump.
Joint leader on the Premier division ladder, Eaglehawk will be determined to keep its hot streak going.
The Two Blues have had 53 members enter for this round.
Eaglehawk and Glenhuntly are locked on 35 points in the AVSL race, but the Hawks have a tally of 123,400 to 120,734.

The division's top two have used their Powerplay in which they doubled the premiership points tally for that round.
Essendon is on 28 and has nine athletes bound for Bendigo.
A major strength of Eaglehawk is the versatility of many athletes.
The Hawks have many who will contest three events or more.
It's highest scoring tally from three events which are added to the teams score.

In division two, Bendigo Harriers will strive to keep the heat on Western and Sandringham.
The Harriers have scored 22 points to be third on the ladder behind Western, 26; and Sandringham, 23.
Bendigo Harriers have 37 athletes nominated for Saturday's competition.
South Bendigo is sixth on the division two ladder on 14 points.
The Bloods have had 40 members enter for this meet.
In division five, Williamstown, Maccabi and Ivanhoe lead the way on 33, 29 and 28 points.
Bendigo University is fifth on 18 points and has 10 to represent Pride in round four.
A highlight of the 100m will be the duel between Eaglehawk's Kye Mason and South Bendigo's Oliver Muggleton.
They will be up against Noah Hijazi and Patrick Steward from Essendon.
