The race meet at Heyfield is the final event of the 2021 Victorian Rally Championship - which marks Reeves and co-driver Kate Catford's last chance at sealing the championship.
The pair will race within the 2WD category aboard their highly-modified Datsun 1600 which has undergone improvements after the most recent rally in early November.
"We have made a few adjustments to the car since the last event," Reeves said
"We've changed the gearing so that top speed is now a bit faster and done some minor suspension tuning to assist with traction."
The race commences on Saturday and will be contested over eight stages at a total of 124km.
The stages encompass the mountainous terrain north west of Heyfield between Walhalla, Toombon and Glenfalloch.
Reeves hasn't driven the stages in the past, but looks forward to the challenge.
"I've heard that the roads we will drive on are pretty fast and flowing, so these adjustments to the car should help," he said.
"We are currently leading the 2WD championship and sitting second in the outright championship so our aim for the weekend is to wrap up the 2WD title and finish strongly overall."
The Gippsland Rally is the first note-paced event of the year, with crews set for a reconnaissance session on Friday ahead of the Saturday start.
Also in the mix for the 2WD title is Bendigo driver Adrian Stratford who will be in action in a Ford Fiesta, meanwhile several drivers will be going all out to claim the overall VRC series title.
