Greater Bendigo has recorded nine new cases of COVID-19, bringing the regions total to 145 active cases.
This is a significant drop in new case numbers for the region compared to the 17 new cases recorded on Tuesday.
The majority of the nine cases were found in the 3550 postcode, which recorded four new cases in the last 24 hours.
3551 was not far behind, recording three new cases, while postcodes 3555 and 3556 both recorded one new case.
The only other shire to record a new case in the last 24 hours was the Macedon Ranges.
Loddon Shire, Campaspe Shire, Central Goldfields Shire and Mount Alexander registered no new cases.

Victoria has recorded 1,179 new COVID-19 cases after NSW listed a number exposure sites for the new Omicron variant.
Data from Victoria's department of health show there are just under 12,000 active cases in Victoria.

There are 299 people in hospital, another 43 in intensive care and 18 are on ventilators.
Six people also died of coronavirus on Tuesday.
There were 74,252 test results issued in Victoria on Tuesday.
Bendigo recorded 17 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday taking the city's active case number to 141.
In NSW, the exposure sites linked to a case of the Omicron variant in a Central Coast woman include venues in Wyong, Toukley, Wadalba, Ryde and Parramatta on Friday and Saturday.
The woman is now isolating at home.

Victoria Police's Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision which left a man with critical injuries in Derby last night.
A Victoria Police spokesperson believe a small orange truck crashed into the rear of a green Jeep SUV that was parked on the east side of the Calder Highway, between Bridgewater and Marong at about 6pm.
A piece of Maldon history is up for sale with the Bushells building in the main street going on the market.
The building was built in the 1860s and includes a leased store as well as private residence.
Police are investigating a theft in Gisborne last week, they are now appealing for more information.
Gisborne Police said on November 24, an unknown person had allegedly stolen a pram from the Kaffeine Bar in Gisborne.
