On Wednesday night at the QEO, Golden Square and Strathfieldsaye clash in the first game of the revamped T20 league.
The BDCA has tried a couple of different fixturing options over the past decade, but this summer's format has the potential to attract more fan involvement and takes the pressure off club volunteers and curators.

Over the next three months - Christmas-New Year period aside - T20 matches will be played each Wednesday and Thursday night.
Most of the matches will be at the QEO, with a sprinkling of games at Canterbury Park.
"Everyone is really keen to be involved,'' Strathfieldsaye captain Ben Devanny said.
"It's exciting to be playing at the QEO under lights. The weather looks like it's going to be great, so, hopefully, we get a good crowd to come along and watch."
Clubs can utilise marquee players and the Jets and Bulldogs have attracted two former BDCA players for Wednesday night's match.
Sandhurst premiership star Taylor Beard is the Jets' marquee player, while Alex Code, fresh from an unbeaten 133 for United in the EVCA on Saturday, returns to Wade Street to boost the batting stocks.
More cricket: High praise for "superstar" Vlaeminck
"Taylor comes in as a quality bowler to replace (leg-spinner) Darcy (Hunter) and he strengthens our batting,'' Devanny said.
"It's great to have him on board."
Devanny said the Jets were confident they have a squad that could go deep into the competition.
"I think we have good depth in terms of the six bowlers we have and we bat pretty deep,'' Devanny said.
"T20 cricket is a funny game and if you drop off for half an hour you're in trouble."
The T20 competition marks the first time star all-rounder Scott Trollope will captain Golden Square.
Trollope steps into the role to ease the pressure on club captain-coach Liam Smith.
"Captaincy is not something I've had a massive interest in doing, but I'm more than happy to give Smooch (Smith) a hand and let him concentrate on playing and having some fun,'' Trollope said.
Code's return bolsters Square's top-order.
"We know our bowling can stand up and restrict sides, so our batting will be the key," Trollope said.
"If we can put some good scores on the board then we'll be hard to beat."
The Bulldogs have made a bright start to the first XI season and Trollope was hopeful the Dogs could use that momentum to springboard into the T20 competition.
"The young guys have got a couple of wins under their belt and that's done their confidence no harm,'' he said.
"We're playing some good cricket at the moment."
The pitch and fast outfield at the QEO promotes heavy scoring and both skippers were expecting plenty of action for game one.
Strathfieldsaye's top three will include Tim Wood and Pat Felmingham, who like to bat aggressively.
"We'll go pretty hard from the start,'' Devanny said of the Jets' batting plans.
"Playing at the QEO makes it a different dynamic. We could play a T20 game at home on a slower wicket and it could be a 130-140 scoreline.
"I would think at the QEO we could see scores of 160-plus.
"It's going to make for some entertaining cricket."
On Thursday night, Bendigo United plays Sandhurst at the QEO, while round one is complete next week when Huntly-North Epsom plays Bendigo on December 8 and Kangaroo Flat tackles White Hills on December 9.
All T20 matches are scheduled to start at 6pm. Entry is free for spectators.
