East was staring down the barrel of a 0-4 start ahead of its trip to Inglewood, but found its best form at the right time.
The Beasties won three of the four rinks, with Ian Ross leading the charge with a 29-11 demolition of the previously in-form Robert Day.
Greg Podesta defeated Malcolm McLean by four shots, while Josh Moloney edged out Lindsay Kelly by two shots.
The only winner for the day for the home side was Grant Jackson, who took down Aaron Tomkins 18-16.
East's first win of the season lifted the team to seventh on the ladder, while Inglewood slipped to fifth.
Moama's hard-fought 11-shot win over Golden Square, combined with Eaglehawk's bye, lifted the league's newest team to the top of the table.
Moama didn't have it all its own way, with Square right in the match until late in the day.
The difference between the two teams was Kevin Anderson's thumping 28-10 victory over Square's Travis Berry.
The 18-shot margin proved too much for Square to counter.
Garri Conforti impressed for Square by defeating Brad Campbell 20-13, while the other two rinks went down to the wire.
Moama's Kevin Brennan saw off Peter Bush 19-18, while Square's Lachlan Bowland outlasted Moama's Paul Newcombe 19-18 in a thriller.
South Bendigo reminded the competition of its class when it trashed Castlemaine 37 shots.
Fresh from the bye, South Bendigo won all four rinks comfortably in the 96-59 scoreline.
The most impressive rinks were Luke Hoskin and Max Rowley.
Hoskin inflicted Castlemaine star Greg Brain's first defeat of the season 21-10, while Rowley defeated Rod Phillips 27-19.
Bendigo is the only team without a win following its 92-58 loss to Kangaroo Flat.
The Roos' win was set up by veteran Barry Anset, who defeated Bendigo's best performing skipper Andrew Brown 22-14.
David Keenan's good form continued with a 26-15 win over Leigh Manning, while Cameron Keenan dominated John Jennings 29-9.
Bendigo's only win for the day came from Grant Woodward, who proved too good for Cameron Wilson 20-18.
