BENDIGO nurse Lisa Stokes is about to embark on a gruelling 24-hour endurance bicycle ride raising funds for a mental health foundation, albeit from the comfort of her own home.
Ms Stokes hopes to complete about 900 virtual kilometres on her Zwift trainer, riding alongside her Las Vegas based coach, Jeff Heisler.

She plans to take five minute break every two hours and a 15 minute break after each six hour period, meaning she could take 26 hours to finish the ride.

Ms Stokes is riding in support of Love Me Love You, a not for profit organisation providing programs to challenge views and stigmas surrounding mental health.
"I lost my dad due to suicide so supporting others with mental health issues is a big thing to me," Ms Stokes said.
"I'm doing this to help other people's wellbeing, and so they can get the help they need.
Mr Heisler said no matter the final outcome, Ms Stokes will always be a victor.
"Just to show up and attempt this challenge says a lot about the person she is," he said.
Ms Stokes' previous longest ride was a 13.5 hour endurance test in support of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Ms Stokes will ride the Tempus Fugit course on the popular Zwift online platform from 4am Thursday, November 25.
