Andrew Fallon - the 45-year-old man charged over the attack - made the application in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Magistrate Russell Kelly granted bail after saying only a "madman" could have committed the "very bizarre" offending.

The court heard about 10.12am on Thursday, the victim was driving his truck along Strathfieldsaye Road in Axe Creek.
He was driving past Mr Fallon's property at 40km/h when the 45-year-old allegedly ran down his driveway and threw a rock at the truck's passenger side window.
Police alleged the rock smashed through the window and struck the driver to the head, causing a small cut.
The victim pulled over to the side of the road near Mr Fallon's property and called 000.
Police alleged Mr Fallon went up to the victim and threatened to kill the man if he did not leave his property.
Mr Fallon also allegedly said, "I'm going to kick your f****** head off".
Police arrived a short time later and tried to speak to the accused but he refused to come out of his property.
Mr Fallon was interviewed on Sunday and remanded in custody. He responded "no comment" to the police allegations.
Defence lawyer Deniz Yildirim told the court Mr Fallon had previously been ordered by the court to undergo an anger management program, but he was yet to complete it.

Mr Yildirim said Mr Fallon was receiving treatment for depression, although there were not any other diagnosed mental illnesses.
The defence lawyer said it was Mr Fallon's first time in custody so the conditions would be particularly onerous given the COVID-19 restrictions.
Magistrate Russell Kelly said the offending was concerning and the prosecution's case was very strong.
"This is absolutely gobsmacking from a 45-year-old man," Mr Kelly said. "There's clearly something else going on here.
"You would want to know why he's been behaving this way."
Mr Kelly said there were not any allegations of drugs or alcohol in the offending which "deepened the mystery".
The magistrate said he would release Mr Fallon from custody but warned the 45-year-old that if he breached bail, he would lock him up again.
As part of the bail conditions, Mr Fallon is not allowed to contact or interact with any motorists who pass by his house.
Mr Fallon is due to return to the Bendigo Magistrates' Court next month.
