Pitson started playing during kindergarten and since has given the sport his full attention.
Whether it's playing within the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League, training with the Melbourne Victory or even kicking the soccer ball around the backyard with his brothers, he gives it his absolute all.
His non-stop dedication and skill has now been recognised with an appointment to School Sport Victoria's 12-and-under state squad that will compete at next month's Sydney International Cup.
The elite tournament will be Pitson's biggest challenge so far, however, the Quarry Hill Primary School student welcomes the assignment.
In order to be selected for the team he successfully passed three try-out stages.
"Each of the trials got tougher and tougher as they progressed," he said.
"Now that I've been chosen I know the hardwork has paid off and it's really boosted my confidence."
The elite junior team consists of school players from both regional and metropolitan areas from across Victoria.
The team will have two different squads compete at the Cup with blue team to be coached by coach Stuart McDonald and managed by Darryl Spiteri and Cameron Heath
Meanwhile, Heath and Spiteri will also manage the white team that will have Paul Castelli as coach.
The exclusive tournament to be held at the Cromer Park Sports Complex will see highly ambitious interstate, regional and local teams go head-to-head in the two-day tournament.
There's less than a week to go until it's game time in Sydney.
Most of the preparation has been undertaken and all that's left for Pitson to do is head north and give his best effort.
"It's very exciting," he said.
Several former SSV Team Victoria members all started their elite journeys via the same avenue before moving onto professional careers, some which include representing Australia on an international level.
As a member of the Melbourne Victory Academy and now Team Victoria, Pitson has his eyes set on one day following the same path.
