The 25-year-old shot rounds of 69, 70, 70 and 69 on the Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course to finish the season finale T21, nine shots behind tournament and championship winner Collin Morikawa (-17).
During the final round Herbert started the day with a two-under front nine, followed with a one-under back nine.
A highlight of the round was an eagle on the par-five 18th.
Herbert hit a near 300m drive down to the right side of the fairway, before knocking his approach shot to a right green-side bunker.
Playing out of the sand, Herbert then holed out to secure the eagle.

Morikawa's bogey-free final round of 66 made history as the first American to win the European Tour's championship event.
"It's so special," Morikawa said to the European Tour.
"I came here last time, first time to Dubai, obviously not having played too many European Tour events and I told everyone that I wanted to come out here and win - win the Race to Dubai and win the DP World Tour Championship, and I had it in my control this week."
Australians Jason Scrivener (T21) and Min Woo Lee were also in action (T16).
The season finale was contested among the tour's top ranked players on the Race to Dubai Standings.
