Bendigo Health's Move For Mental Health fundraising challenge saw participants walk, run or wheel their way to their own fitness and fundraising goals while raising money for mental health services and programs at Bendigo Health.

Move for Mental Health Ambassador Skye Kinder thanked everyone who supported the initiative.

"We are grateful to all the participants, donors, ambassadors and sponsors who have made the 2021 Move for Mental Health a success," she said.

Involvement in this year's event surged, with 367 participants across 55 teams - an increase of almost 200 people from last year.

Dr Kinder said it was pleasing to see more people involved in supporting mental health, the importance of which has been highlighted during the pandemic.

"Funds raised will allow us to expand our specialised exercise program to improve treatment and recovery outcomes of mental health patients throughout the Loddon Mallee region," she said.

Bendigo Health Fundraising and Foundation Manager Rachel Mason thanked participants and sponsors, especially 2021 Move for Mental Health major sponsor Bendigo Radiology for their valued support.

"It has been amazing to see the progress of all our participants, including some of the corporate teams," she said.

"The 2021 Move for Mental Health challenge exceeded our expectations and has fast become an annual fundraiser. Importantly, it has raised awareness and sparked many conversations about mental health and the benefits of exercise."
